Ventral Hernia is the type of weakness or hole in you abdominal wall.  There are many specific terms used to describe various types of Ventral Hernias.  The most notably Umbilical Hernia, Incisional Hernia are usually the two most common ones of the Ventral Hernia.

What is Hernia?
There are several different types of hernias. The most common one is Inguinal Hernia.  Hernia just means that there is a weakness in the abdominal wall or fascia or enlargement of natural orifice of the body.  The Inguinal Hernias are the weakness or large opening in the groin area in either left or right side. Both women and men suffer from this surgically treatable disease. The Inguinal Hernias can be either left or right sided or both. It can also be direct or indirect depending on where exactly the hernia is located and where it opens to.

Dr. Francis S. Lee trained in the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  After graduating with Honors from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, with two major degrees in Analytical Chemistry and Political Science, he was accepted into the Medical School.  After the usual four years in the medical school, he was accepted into University of Kansas Surgical Residency Training in Wichita, Kansas.  He studied General Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery as well as Endoscopic Procedures and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
